Fala sério! - "You're kidding!" or "No way!"

. . . pra caramba! - This is used at the end of a sentence to exaggerate what you're saying.

Lindo maravilhoso! - Beautiful, marvelous!

É mesmo? - Really?

Imagina! (Mah-zee-na) - No problem!

Fique tranquilo - Don't worry

Com certeza! - Certainly!

Pois não? - Can I help you?

Asking for Directions

Com licença. Tem um banco aqui perto? - Excuse me. Is there a bank near here?

Tem sim. Logo ali na esquina. - Yes, right there on the corner.

Tem alguma farmácia aqui perto? - Is there a pharmacy nearby?

Sim, tem uma aqui pertinho. - Yes, there is one near here.

Como é que eu chego lá? - How do I get there?

Vire a primeira à esquerda. - Take the first left.

Siga em frente. - Go straight on.

Desça a rua. - Go down the street.

Vire à direita no sinal. - At the traffic lights, turn right.
